Blown-in attic insulation in El Paso, TX

We install blown-in attic insulation across El Paso as a CertainTeed partner. Before we quote anything we go up and show you what is actually there, because a lot of El Paso attics have less insulation than their owners assume.

The attic is where the cooling goes

An El Paso attic can run far hotter than the outside air on a summer afternoon. Insulation is what stops that heat arriving in the rooms below.

Air conditioning gets the attention because it is the thing that breaks. But an under-insulated attic means the system runs longer to hold the same temperature, and in a climate like this one that runs for four months solid. Insulation is the least visible improvement you can make to a house here and often the one that changes the most about how it feels in August.

Because we do roofing as well, insulation work often makes sense at the same time as a roof job or a refrigerated air conversion. See our roofing services.

Insulation questions we get asked

How do I know if my attic needs more insulation?

The simplest check is whether the insulation is level with or below the ceiling joists. If you can see the joists clearly, there is probably not enough. Rooms that are much hotter upstairs than down, and a system that runs almost continuously in summer, are the other common signs. We will go up and show you before quoting.

Can you add insulation on top of what is already there?

Usually yes, provided the existing material is dry and not contaminated. Blown-in insulation can be added over existing batts or loose fill. If we find damp, pest damage or contamination, we will tell you what needs removing first rather than covering it up.
